RIDING ACTIVITIES AT RIVERSIDE EQUESTRIAN CANTRE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS 2011/12
TWO WEEKS OF DAY CAMPS BEFORE CHRISTMAS PLUS TWO IN JANUARY
Day camps start at 8.30am finish at 4.30am. Riders need to bring own food and drinks,. and to wear long pants, shirts with sleaves and solid shoes (sneakers are OK).
Wednesdays and Thursdays are for inexperienced riders.
- Week (1) will be 12th to 16th December
- Week (2) will be 19th to 23rd December
Riverside Equestrian Centre will be closed for two weeks from Friday 23rd December until Monday 9th January when it reopens with the 2nd two more weeks of day camps.
- Week (3) will be Monday the 9th to Friday 13th of January
- Week (4) will be Monday the 16th to Friday 21st.of January
Cost for day camps is still $99 for a full day and $77 per half-day for casual riders including Saddle Club and Bridle Club pupils. (Cost $88 and $66 for regular Riverside pupils.)
Saturday morning lessons will, as usual, be replaced by half-day camps. Dates for these half-day camps will be Saturdays 10th and 17th December and 14th and 21st January. Saturday pm programme of Bridle and Saddle Club followed by a 4pm adult lesson will remain the same. Riverside will be closed Saturday 24th and 31st December and 7th January 2012.
BOOKINGS FOR DAY CAMPS REQUIRE A 50% DEPOSIT. This deposit confirms your spot in our camp programme. If you cannot make your booked-in camp day, a make up voucher will be given for the camp when the day camp is paid in full. Cancellations must be made 2 days prior, (or at least an hour before camps start if your child is ill). Please ensure Riverside in contacted directly if any cancellations need to be made.

BRIDLE CLUB AND SADDLE CLUB NEWS
Bridle club has now moved to a weekly spot on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 3.30pm along with Saddle Club. Bridle Club is bareback riding for riders 3 to 8, and for other riders wishing to try bareback riding. Saddle club is for riders from 8 onwards. Adults are welcome to take part in either session. Price, for Bridle Club and Saddle Club, is $45 per rider.
Bridle and Saddle Club will continue to be held until and including 17th December and will start again on 14th January, 2012.
PRIVATE LESSONS Our school horses are all having a holiday over Christmas, but some of our instructors and Mrs White are happy to take lessons in the first week of January. Private lessons can also be booked before 9am and after 4pm of day camp days.
TERM I FOR 2012 STARTS ON SATURDAY 23RD JANUARY. There are spaces for new pupils so please contact us. Could current pupils please confirm their regular spots for 2012.
BIG NEWS!
Riverside has great plans for improvement and expansion of its operation, with more horses, more facilities and more horsey fun for more people.
The past few months have been a little tumultuous as regular riders at Riverside will know that Mrs White will reduce her day to day involvement of the riding school as part of her retirement plan. She has a book to get to the Publishers!
Riverside has a new Manager, Lauren Lawley, who was previously an instructor with us, and has been a manager and coach at a Dressage barn in the USA for the last 4 years. Lauren returned in May to have her little boy Hudson in June, and is now back with us Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Mrs White's son Brian has joined the Board of Directors and will provide day to day support to our new Manager.
Hopefully the toughest part is behind us now with the installation of new management, as we prepare our expansion and development plans for the school.
- the purchase of new horses,
- upgrading yards and fences,
- upgrading lights on one arena and installing lights on the second arena
- installing dust mitigation sprinklers on the second arena
- a major revamp of the reception area, including demolition of the old mine workshops adjoining the big shed, and installation of a new office building and employees tack storage.
